IS IT ?? After the reopening of the line Faentina, the works on the TAV Firenze-Bologna
are the most important raiway works in the area.
At Carlone, South of Campomigliaio is the base for the first of the work
places for the new High Speed Firenze-Bologna
Line. In effect the rebuild of the old line [Faentina]
have been made by the railways obtorto collo, that is over costriction,
since it was the condition imposed by local administration for authorizing
the building of new line. Our old line will be used in first times also
to remove the material dug during the costruction of the new one.

The old line is just above ... can you see it ?
This
picture was taken in november 1996, when the works on the new line was
not yet complete.
On right you can see a picture taken from the first train on 10.1.98 . You can see the switch that will lead to the yard were will be discharged inerts dug out of the tunnel of the new line.
The new
line will appear on the Mugello east of S. piero a sieve, here is the exit
of the main tunnel:
On picture below you can see the alignement of the line. This will be the only part of the line outside tunnel or short viaduct from Firenze to Bologna. It will underpass also the Faentina line you can see in the background.
